Asian Studies Work in Progress Lunch featuring Dr. Emily Luan
Event Actions
Dr. Emily Luan will discuss her current work in progress, 鈥淒estination Tree.鈥
Dr. Luan (Dept. of English) will talk about her second full length manuscript in progress, tentatively titled Destination Tree, which reimagines the lineage of Chinese landscape poetry and travelogue through sustained inquiry into the crossing between the geography of Taiwan and its colonial history. The project troubles and expands definitions of landscapes: urban, migratory, and historical landscapes; landscapes shaped by memory and colonization; landscapes both physical and psychological.
Open to interested faculty and students. Please email the Director of Asian Studies Program, Professor Kirsten Ziomek at kziomek@adelphi.edu to rsvp.
Lunch will be provided to those who rsvp on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are attending and you have any dietary restrictions, please also provide that information.
