Our Admissions Committee bases acceptance into the Honors College on a wide range of criteria. It looks specifically for candidates who have demonstrated intellectual curiosity and high achievement in high school.<\/p>\n
While no single factor is decisive, the initial screening criteria include:<\/p>\n

- Class Rank<\/strong> <\/span>(when available)<\/li>\n
- Cumulative GPA<\/strong> <\/span>(incoming class average is 4.05 on a 4.3 scale)<\/li>\n
- Standardized test scores <\/span><\/strong>are OPTIONAL for Honors College applicants\n

- In 2019, the last year all students submitted scores the SAT average was 1388<\/li>\n
- In 2019, the last year all students submitted scores the ACT average was 31<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- Letters of Recommendation<\/strong> <\/span>(from your teachers)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Interviews<\/h2>\n
After a holistic review of the application, the Honors College will invite a promising applicant to an interview on Zoom. This interview gives applicants a chance to learn more about the Honors College and offers them the opportunity to share their own intellectual achievements and passions. The interview is a key factor in the final admissions and scholarship decision. In the interest of fairness all interviews will take place virtually and none will be conducted on campus.<\/p>\n
