MS in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
College Degree: Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Art Therapy and Psychology

As a photographer and creative professional, I鈥檝e seen how advancements in technology can transform an industry. I wanted to understand the science behind them and eventually contribute to their development. I chose 果酱视频 because I was looking for a program that would provide the strong technical foundation I鈥檇 need to transition into the field. Studying at the Manhattan Center also appealed to me, as the small classes allow me to engage with professors and classmates and pursue my degree while remaining connected to professional opportunities in New York City. One of the most rewarding aspects of my experience so far has been the opportunity to learn alongside individuals who bring different academic and professional perspectives to the classroom.

Flex MBA, business analytics specialization
College Degree: Computer Security

Coming from a tech background, I鈥檝e always loved problem-solving and diving deep into systems, but I wanted to understand the bigger strategic picture. Pursuing an MBA with a specialization in business analytics felt like the perfect bridge; it lets me take that technical mindset and apply it directly to data-driven business decisions and operational strategy. 础诲别濒辫丑颈鈥檚 Flex MBA program really stood out for its personal touch; the faculty are genuinely invested in mentoring you, rather than treating you like just a face in a giant lecture hall. Choosing the Manhattan Center was an easy call. Having classes right in the middle of New York City brings so much energy, and you’re studying right next door to the industries driving both business and tech forward. The best part has definitely been our cohort. We鈥檝e built a tight-knit, supportive group.

As a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, I had the opportunity to take advantage of the G.I. Bill to further pursue my education. I spoke with my father, and he suggested that rather than pursue a degree in something related to my current career as a procurement professional, I ought to go back to school for something I genuinely enjoy. I鈥檝e always enjoyed the art of storytelling and had a desire to learn the craft of writing. I knew I wanted to be around writers and in a writing community, so New York was the place I wanted to go, even though I鈥檇 never visited the city before. The MFA at 果酱视频 appealed to me in particular because it鈥檚 a low-residency program. Being able to get that level of education on top of having the flexibility to continue living and working in Huntsville, Alabama, is a fantastic opportunity that I am extremely grateful to have.

I鈥檓 a resource librarian in the education department at the American Museum of Natural History, and my background is in information systems and data science, with a special emphasis on making complexity easy and user-friendly. The rise of AI has made me feel that allowing technology to pervade every corner of our lives is causing us to lose something essential about how humans relate to learning and adapting. I hope to study how play can operate as a technology-free method for learning and development for people of any age. I chose 础诲别濒辫丑颈鈥檚 learning sciences program because of the wide range of research conducted by the faculty and because studying in Manhattan and collaborating with the New York City Teaching Fellows program offers ample opportunities for practical field research right at our doorstep. My goal is to continue doing research in the learning sciences and join a university faculty.

I am currently an intake supervisor at a residential supportive housing program operating under the New York State Office of Children and Family Services oversight. I decided to pursue an MSW to be better equipped to serve the public. I really enjoy helping people restore and build relationships and live fulfilling and meaningful lives. I chose 果酱视频 because of the wonderful support my family received from its Center for Psychological Services, and because the Manhattan Center is close to my home and makes it easy to combine work and graduate school. Even one year of the MSW program at 果酱视频 has helped me to become a better advocate for my clients and supporter of our community partners. As a licensed social worker, I expect and plan to do even greater things for the people I serve.

I have always had diverse interests, including educational technology, psychology, curriculum design and innovation. I work at the City College of New York鈥檚 School of Education, so I was interested in studying in Midtown since it offers such a mix of academic, scientific, cultural and professional opportunities. The Manhattan Center adds to that by providing a convenient, tight-knit learning environment that supports my academic and professional goals.

A state-of-the-art, three-floor learning space located in the heart of Midtown at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 44th Street, the center will offer an initial group of eight graduate programs in in-demand career areas. Students will be able to choose from master鈥檚 degree programs in artificial intelligence and machine learning, education, general psychology/human resource concentration, business administration (Flex MBA), social work, and creative writing, as well as doctoral programs in learning sciences and global higher education leadership. 果酱视频 is making it even easier for working professionals to earn a career-boosting MBA.

Starting this fall, the University’s Robert B. Willumstad School of Business鈥攔ecognized as a Best Business School by The Princeton Review for eight years running鈥攚ill begin offering its Flex MBA program at 果酱视频’s new Manhattan Center on Fifth Avenue and 44th Street, just steps away from Grand Central Station and easily accessible by subway, bus and commuter train.

The Flex MBA, which can be completed in as little as one year, is designed to meet the schedules of busy, career-minded adults. The program is conveniently presented in a hybrid format, with on-site and online classes held in the evening.

Professionals looking to advance their business career will have three other options at the Manhattan Center starting this fall: graduate certificate programs in business analytics and human resource management, as well as a human resource management concentration in the MA in General Psychology program.

All four programs are also offered at 果酱视频’s main campus in Garden City, New York, and are part of a suite of 13 graduate business degree and certificate programs. The Willumstad School is also known for its undergraduate programs and was recently recognized as a Best Undergraduate Business School by Poets&Quants, ranking ahead of all other Long Island institutions.

We spoke with MaryAnne Hyland, PhD, dean of the Willumstad School, to learn more about the programs and the tuition-saving Manhattan Advantage Award scholarships available to 果酱视频 alumni.

What makes Flex MBA such a flexible option for working professionals?

The Flex MBA program is a 36-credit program that offers many convenient options for students. Students can earn their degree in one year or choose to study part-time in our two-year track. Courses will be in a hybrid format, with some class sessions held in the evening at the Manhattan Center and others conducted online. This setup offers the convenience of online learning with the personalized support and networking associated with in-person classes.

Is the Flex MBA program only for students with a business background?

No, not everyone comes with a business background. We have students with healthcare backgrounds and students with experience in various other fields outside of business, and we help to acclimate them. We provide online modules to help them understand some of the business basics so they’re ready to go once they start the program.

Are the graduate certificate programs flexible too?

We鈥檒l be offering two certificate programs at the Manhattan Center: the business analytics certificate and the human resource management certificate. The courses for those programs fold right into the Flex MBA program. So if a student wants to start out by earning a certificate and then enrolling in the MBA program, they can take these three to four courses, and those credits carry right in. These certificates offer a nice way to test the waters of what it’s like to be in school again and the ability to walk away with a strong credential, even if they don鈥檛 want to pursue a full master鈥檚 degree.

果酱视频 alumni can earn their MBA at the Manhattan Center for only $20,000. How is that possible?

We are really excited to offer this opportunity to 果酱视频 alumni as a way to kick off the opening of the Manhattan Center. It works by combining two scholarships: our new Manhattan Advantage Award scholarship for $10,000 and our Alumni Award for Graduate Study scholarship, which covers $5,000 per year. If students take two years to complete this program on a part-time basis and they receive $5,000 a year in addition to the $10,000, one-time Manhattan Advantage Award, they can complete their degree for under $20,000, which is quite reasonable for an AACSB-accredited [Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business] program.

How does the Flex MBA program differ from other MBA programs?

We are trying to give students the skills that they need to be successful in today’s workplace. The Flex MBA program, for example, is a relatively new program that focuses on solving business problems. We have problem-solving days built into the program where students come in鈥攐utside of their classes鈥攖o work in teams on a project for a real company. They do this first without AI to work on their critical thinking skills, and then they use AI so they can see the differences between what they generated as a team and what AI assisted them with. That’s a distinctive feature of our program that we鈥檙e very proud of. We think it’s unique, and we get great feedback from our students about it.

It’s also the personalized attention that students really say makes their education special and valuable. When we ask students why they chose 果酱视频, they almost always mention that it’s a place where professors know your name. There are small classes, and we have dedicated staff there to assist the students with finding jobs and internships.

What are your hopes for the first year of the Flex MBA program at the Manhattan Center?

I hope that it’s a program where students really thrive. My hope would be that the students who participate in this kickoff year of the program have an excellent learning experience in our brand-new, state-of-the-art facility.
