¹û½´ÊÓÆµ's 2013 McDonell Fellows spent the summer collaborating with faculty mentors and conducting science research.
While many of their peers enjoyed the summer break by the pool, eight ¹û½´ÊÓÆµ students were also doing what they enjoy—and getting paid for it. Thanks to Horace G. McDonell, Jr. ’52, ’02 (Hon.), a former ¹û½´ÊÓÆµ Trustee and a retired chairman and CEO of PerkinElmer Inc., these undergraduate science majors spent 10 weeks conducting full-time research. With a $4,000 research stipend and $1,000 for equipment and supplies, the latest class of McDonell Felllows also had the opportunity to work side-by-side with faculty mentors in the lab and in the field.
