Demonstrated excellence and leadership during her tenure at ¹û½´ÊÓÆµ. The daughter of a single mother, and coming from an immigrant family, she has accomplished much in her academic career.

Elina Kats ’12Ìýdemonstrated excellence and leadership during her tenure at ¹û½´ÊÓÆµ. The daughter of a single mother, and coming from an immigrant family, she has accomplished much in her academic career.

In her sophomore year, Elina founded the ¹û½´ÊÓÆµ Debate Society, which within a year of existence became an active participant in the northeast Parliamentary Debate Style competitions. Additionally, Elina twice participated in , presenting her research on Chinese Medicine. She won the for her history thesis and ultimately graduated from the with a 4.0.

Elina is currently a second-year at , where she continues to be an active member of the student organizational community. She is Senior Editor on theÌýNational Security JournalÌýand is Organizing Chair of their annual Symposium. This year, the conference will feature discussions regarding the application of Human Rights law to Armed Conflicts and will be held on April 5thÌýat HLS.

She has also taken a leadership role in the Jewish Law Students Association for the past two years, and will be co-President next year. She is also involved in the , where she helps clients apply for legal permanent residency. Finally, Elina is currently interning at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston. She hopes to spend the summer working for a commercial business litigation this summer and, later, for a labor union in New York.
