Almost 600 health providers will be trained in addiction screening by ¹û½´ÊÓÆµ.

¹û½´ÊÓÆµâ€™s was awarded a grant totaling nearly $900,000 to develop a multidisciplinary training protocol for professionals to identify and treat clients with substance use disorders.

The federal grant comes from the (SAMHSA), the agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation.

The new partnership will bring together three schools at ¹û½´ÊÓÆµâ€”the , the and the —in a collaborative project to train at least 600 community health and mental health providers to deliver the evidence-based protocol named Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT).
