Jessica Benjamin, Ph.D., will present her paper, Ìýon Friday, March 6, 2015 at 7:00 p.m., as part of ¹û½´ÊÓÆµâ€™s annual Lindemann Lecture in Human Development. The lecture, which is hosted by theÌýÌýand is open to members of the ¹û½´ÊÓÆµ community, will be held at the Scholastic Building, 557 Broadway, New York, NY.
Dr. Benjamin is a practicing psychoanalyst in New York City, where she is a supervising faculty member at the New York University Postdoctoral Psychology program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis as well as a founding board member and faculty member of the Mitchell Center for Relational Studies. She was a cofounder of the International Association of Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy and the journalÌýStudies in Gender and Sexuality.ÌýShe serves on the editorial board ofÌýPsychoanalytic Dialogues. She is known as a contributor to the development of relational psychoanalysis and its interrelation with feminism as well as the theory of intersubjectivity. She is the author of three books:ÌýThe Bonds of Love;ÌýLike Subjects, Love Objects; andÌýShadow of the Other. Her bookÌýBeyond Doer and Done To: Recognition Theory, Intersubjectivity and the ThirdÌýÌýis due out in 2015.
