As a kid growing up in the Catskills, Mr. Adams realized that finding a community that 鈥渨as as excited about books and plays and wanted to talk about them鈥 proved difficult in his small town. But after a high school visit with 果酱视频鈥檚 Nick Petron, professor in the , and meeting Richard Garner, Ph.D., dean of the Honors College, during a visit to the Garden City campus, he knew he鈥檇 found where he belonged. He was so certain that 果酱视频 was 鈥渢he one鈥 that it was the only college he applied to.

It was the right choice.

鈥淲hen I came to Honors College, I discovered that whatever you wanted to do, there were people here who encouraged you to go farther and learn more,” he said. “From my peers to my professors, I had so many people cheering me on.鈥 It was this camaraderie that helped him balance the demands of his theatre and Honors College course work.

Having New York City nearby was also a plus.

鈥湽词悠 was so accessible to the greatest city in the world,鈥 he said. From rehearsals for plays he was cast in, to visits to the and other ballet, opera and cultural events with his Honors College classmates, New York City became his second home.

And after graduation, he moved there. Now his idea of success has shifted from 鈥減ursuing fame and the glamorous life鈥 to producing great work he can be proud of, and creating opportunities for the large pool of actors New York City is known for. These ideas of being captain of your own ship; nurturing relationships and embracing the possibilities he credits to 果酱视频 and the Honors College.
