Dear ¹û½´ÊÓƵ Community,

We know that this has been a much-anticipated announcement and are pleased to report that theÌýPanthers’ Den Dining HallÌýhas now completed all its required steps to formally open as one of our two main dining halls on campus during the renovation of our Ruth S. Harley University Center.

OnÌýMonday,ÌýSeptember 23,Ìýthe Den will beginÌýservingÌýa variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options and, throughout the academic year, will be openÌýfrom 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

Dining optionsÌýin the new dining hall will includeÌý¹û½´ÊÓƵ Street SubÌý²õ²¹²Ô»å·É¾±³¦³ó±ð²õ,ÌýInnovation KitchenÌýwith varying weekly themes,Ìýand “buy-the-ounce” stations includingÌýtheÌýCrispÌýsalad bar,ÌýRosso Verde, featuring an assortment of pastas and sauces, and theÌý“Your Choice”Ìýstation, which offers a variety of hot proteins, vegetables and sides.ÌýThese options will evolve as the Panthers’ Den becomes more and more a part of our community. Dining Services will also rotate menu options based on community feedback.

We are anticipating that the first few weeks of our new Panthers’ Den Dining Hall will take some getting used to for everyone and, as we do, we look forward to our community’s input to help us continue improving the ¹û½´ÊÓƵ experience for everyone.

Other dining spots on campus will continue to offer additional dining options, with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free items available.

  • Post Hall–with its all-you-care-to-eat and generous to-go hot food and salad bar–will continue to offer pizza and other popular selections
  • #Cheeseplease/The Back Bar Grill on the side of the Center for Recreation and Sports (CRS) facing Motamed Field will offer grilled items including burgers and fries, chicken fingers, salmon, and tofu
  • PAWS Café offers specialty coffee drinks and a wide variety of grab-and-go sandwiches, salads, pastries and desserts, including vegan, vegetarian and kosher options
  • Legends Café offers smoothies, acai bowls and oatmeal bowls
  • Outtakes Express in the Science Building lobby has salads, sandwiches, snacks and drinks to go, including vegan, vegetarian and kosher options

In addition, the Food Truck Court will remain between the Nexus Building and Swirbul Library. The ¹û½´ÊÓƵ Food Truck, where meal plans are accepted, will become the “Melt Lab,” serving grilled cheese and soup, and the Halal Food Truck (cash/credit/debit only) will continue to serve standard menu items. For now, Mama’s Cuban Kitchen and The Big Cheese (both cash/credit/debit only) will remain on campus. With the Panthers’ Den ready to open, we will be taking down the tent in the Quad and discontinuing the free lunch after today. The PACafé will be closing for two weeks as we reallocate cooking equipment to the Panthers’ Den.

The of all our dining locations are available on our website.

Meanwhile, renovations at the Ruth S. Harley University Center (UC) are moving along on schedule. Interior demolition is complete; exterior demolition, as needed, is underway; and, within the next few weeks, concrete work to lay footings and a foundation will begin. I encourage all community members to look for the most timely information on these and other aspects of the UC renovation on the “” page on the UC Progress website, and to utilize the Ìýapp (and, if you already have it, install the latest update) and enable push notifications for the topics of interest to you. We will continue to communicate with you about progress and activities on campus and we will continue to listen to and address the community’s feedback. Please feel free to share your questions, suggestions and concerns with us at UCProgress@adelphi.edu.

Sincerely,

The UC Progress Team
